  • Creates sharp images with high contrast and ensures superior peripheral brightness
  • Incorporates molded glass aspherical lens, perfectly correcting coma aberration and creating superior image quality.
  • Super multi-layer lens coating reduces flare and ghosting.

This lens is really well engineered. It handles very well, with a nice and firm rubber focus wring and a decent and quiet auto-focus feature (not as slow as Tamron lenses, but not as fast as most Canons). With f/1.4, it is very fast and it really shines in the next stops at 2 and 2.8. You get very crisp images and you can use the manual focus at any time, allowing you to change depth as you like without having to switch from autofocus to manual.

This is very good for the price. Sigma 18-250mm f/3.5-6.3 DC OS HSM IF Lens is metal on metal so you need to elbow grease it into the body the first few times to break it in. Thought I would break something. very decent for video. lens creep was not as bad as many others say but my left hand is almost always cradling it anyway.

I am not a super-technical pixel-peeper kind of guy but I am a pretty experienced photographer and I'm writing this with a similar audience in mind. That's what's one of the very nice things about this lens. You get the same performance on the crop body with it that you get with the 24-70mm on the full-frame.

  • 2 ultra-low-dispersion (UD) glass elements and rear focusing system
  • Ultra-sonic monitor (USM) for quick, highly accurate autofocusing
  • 4.9-foot close focusing distance; produces natural-looking background blur
  • Angle of View 39.6 degrees(Sony E-mount 50.7 degrees)
  • Please refer the Compatability Chart before use.

It has a relatively fast aperture to take pictures at lower ISO at night. The 30mm is a ~50mm FF equivalent, so the focal distance is pretty similar to the human eye, which means it feels pretty natural to use it. The blades are shaped outward instead of inward, but this is an irrelevant aesthetic choice.

This is a really good lens. If you need much more versatile for your camera than other 24-70 mm lens. The lens produced images that were tack sharp. This contrasts with my prior experience with sigma lenses. They seem to have improved their product significantly.
